Who we are
WasteSpeed is operated by Jon Blades t/a WasteSpeed, Faringdon, Oxfordshire, part of the PianoSpeed group of transport and logistics businesses. Contact: bookings@wastespeed.co.uk.
Bookings
A booking is confirmed when you receive our confirmation email with a reference. Collections happen on your postcode area's fixed route day. We confirm an arrival window the day before. You can change or cancel free of charge up to 6pm the evening before your collection by replying to your confirmation email.
Prices and payment
Published prices include the two person crew, loading, transport, disposal fees and VAT. Two possible additions, both agreed before loading: £20 per flight of stairs where no working lift exists, and a hygiene surcharge for heavily soiled items, agreed with you first. Load sizes are confirmed with you on arrival before loading begins; you pay for what is actually loaded. Payment is due on completion, by card, cash or bank transfer.
What we carry
We collect household and business waste that two people can safely carry, as described on the services pages. We cannot carry asbestos, tyres, liquid paints, oils, fuels or chemicals, gas bottles, clinical waste, or plasterboard in quantity; we will point you to licensed specialists for these. Anything hazardous discovered in a load may be left with you or handled via a specialist route at cost, agreed with you first.
Your responsibilities
Please ensure items are yours to dispose of, accessible at the agreed address, and that anything you have told us about access is accurate. Someone over 18 must be present for indoor collections unless we have agreed key or code access in writing. Fridges and freezers should be emptied and ideally defrosted; appliances disconnected from mains and water.
Our responsibilities
We handle everything we collect under waste duty of care rules, sort loads for reuse and recycling as described in our recycling promise, and provide photo confirmation of completed jobs. Commercial customers receive a waste transfer note for every collection. We carry public liability insurance; any damage caused by our crew must be reported within 48 hours and will be handled fairly and quickly.
When things go wrong
If we miss a confirmed collection for a reason within our control we rebook you first on the next route day or refund anything paid, your choice. Route days can very occasionally shift for weather, breakdowns or road closures; we tell you as soon as we know. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
The legal bits
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If any clause turns out to be unenforceable the rest still stand. We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time of your booking applies to it.
