Fridges and freezers are hazardous waste until the refrigerant gases are professionally removed, which is why the tip is fussy about them and why leaving one in a front garden can earn a fine. We collect any household appliance and route it through licensed WEEE treatment, degassing included in the price.

An average washing machine is over 50 percent steel. At the treatment plant appliances are depolluted first, gases, oils and capacitors out, then shredded and separated into steel, aluminium, copper and plastics that go back into manufacturing.

We take

  • Fridges, freezers and fridge freezers
  • Washing machines, dryers and dishwashers
  • Cookers, ovens and microwaves
  • Boilers and radiators, drained

  • Anything still plumbed or wired in, please disconnect first
  • Stairs without a lift are £20 per flight, everything else is included
  • You get photo confirmation once it's gone

Why do fridges cost more than other items?

The refrigerant gases must be professionally extracted at a licensed facility before recycling, which carries a treatment fee. Our £69 price includes that, so there is nothing extra to pay.

What is WEEE?

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, covered by UK WEEE regulations. Anything with a plug, battery or cable must be treated at an approved facility rather than landfilled. That is exactly where ours go.

Do you disconnect washing machines?

We ask you to unplug and unhook hoses before we arrive. If a machine is hard wired or plumbed in, have it disconnected first, then we handle everything from there.
